Documents, de Ed Fella

À travers ses milliers de dessins, Polaroids, collages, affiches… Ed Fella explore depuis le début des années 1960 la typographie et le paysage américain, et a inventé un vocabulaire visuel dont la singularité lui vaut une reconnaissance internationale. Son oeuvre est le lieu d’un dialogue permanent entre art et design, et s’inscrit dans une filiation complexe qui part de l’Art nouveau, passe par Dada, le surréalisme, l’expressionnisme abstrait, le pop art, la beat generation, le graphisme psychédélique...

Through his thousands of drawings, Polaroids, collages, posters… Ed Fella has been exploring typography and the American landscape since the early 1960s, and has invented a visual vocabulary whose singularity has earned him worldwide recognition. His work is the place of a permanent dialogue between art and design, and is part of a complex filiation which starts from the Art Nouveau, goes through Dada, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art, Beat Generation, and Psychedelic Graphics.
